D Minor Harmonic and Melodic minor scale video

Barbershop:

Here’s a video of a performance by the Newfangled Four

Here’s a comedic skit where this quartet makes fun of bass singers.

Another one, less comedic, but their performance is really good.

Make sure to watch this one. Mike Rowe is a really amazing bass singer.

This one is long, but really well done. It’s more of a theatrical, storytelling performance, about the story of the Hunchback of Notre Dame

October 22

This is the bowing exercise for Gavotte.

October 1

Great job in the lesson, Markus! I have a video for you on the E major scale, as well as a couple for Stool of Repentance (a full tune, then the first part slowly)

September 25

Hey Markus, hope you had a good weekend. I have a video that walks you through the E harmonic minor scale, as well as one that shows you the “stop bowing” technique I would like you to use for the noodle doodle in Gavotte. I’d also like you to have a listen to the piece (Click here).

September 18

Woohoo! We’re back into lessons. Here’s a video of your E natural minor scale, and also a recording of Gavotte for you to listen to (don’t worry - it’s not the Cadenza guy).

July 9

Here is a video for Rock of Ages, and a video showing how the chords go underneath Little Liza Jane. I’ve included sheet music for both songs in the email I sent to you mom with the lesson notes. Happy Practising!

June 18

Hey Markus, I have a video for you that explains the Happy Farmer bowing to you. Let me know if you have any questions :).

Listen to this recording of Gavotte this week. If you have the piece in your ear, it will become a lot easier to learn it later.

June 11 lesson

Here is a video about the preview to Gavotte.

May 28 Lesson

I gave Adam some videos for the 3rd line of the Allegro harmony, so I figured I’d send you them as well. The first one is just the 3rd line a little slower than normal, and the second one is the same thing, but with a better view of the fingers.

May 20/20 Lesson

Hey Markus! Here is a video for you to help with the timing trouble you have in Minuet #3. I play it slow first, then normal speed.

May 14 Lesson

Here’s two videos for the harmony for Allegro: The harmony by itself, and a video that shows what it sounds like with the melody.

May 7/20 Lesson

Hey Markus, here is the video of the bowing for Happy Farmer. Happy Practising!

May 1/20 Lesson

Here’s a video to reference for the E Major scale!

January 30/20 Lesson

Hey Markus! This is the video with the melody for that fiddle tune you learned in about 2 minutes in your lesson. There’s also a harmony, which can be found here, in case you want to learn it to play with Adam. He learned the harmony in his last lesson.

Also, here are two videos of the exercises I wanted you to do for Minuet 2. There’s the high 3 one, and the slurring one. If all goes well next week, we can hopefully start working of previews for the next piece!

Nov 28/19 Lesson

Here’s your practice chart for this week. Enjoy!

Mozart money!!!

The time for Mozart money has come!! Here are the rules for Mozart money:

  • every day that you practice, you get one Mozart dollar. If you practice for 7 days in a row, you get 10 Mozart dollars in total.

  • If you graduate a piece, you get one Mozart dollar.

  • Every week, you must fill out the Mozart Money Chart for each time you practice. Your mother’s initials must be beside every week you practice so that you can collect your money.

  • Save up your money until Christmas time. Then you can get a prize based on how much money you save up!

Download the Mozart Money Tracker, print it off, and get started! Happy Practising!

Oct 30/19

Check out this video. Luke is still working on his part, but it will give you an idea of how the duet sounds.
